Heart Chakra (43 minutes)
As we move into the Heart Chakra or Anahata chakra, we begin a deeper journey within. This chakra moves us from our base, our connection to the earth and our relationships both with others and within ourselves, into the realm of love and compassion. This chakra connects you to your feelings of self-love, altruism, generosity, kindness, and respect. Anahata is an integrating and unifying chakra, as it represents wholeness. As a result, this chakra is also your healing centre.
Opening the heart chakra in our yoga practice requires a special focus on back bending postures. In today’s practice, you are encouraged to use a bolster or cushion, as well as 2 blocks, a strap, and an open mind!
This heart-centred vinyasa sequence explores gentle back bending postures as well as deeper back bends with the intention of opening the energy flow in your heart centre. Sun Salutations begin the practice, allowing you to build heart within the body and lubricate the joints. Throughout the practice, modifications are offered to allow you to deepen your exploration of the anahata chakra and corresponding postures. Get ready to crank open your heart and dive into your innate capacity for self-love and compassionate well-being!
